Fundraising
Every year, our funding needs increase as California public schools face more and more funding cutbacks.We have been very fortunate at Mar Vista to be able to continue to provide the enrichment programs that our children love while at the same time supporting the school by funding programs that the district has stopped paying for – such as our librarian, for example. Could you imagine an elementary school without a librarian? Neither could we, so we have increased our operating budget and we need everyone’s help more than ever in order to reach our goals.
In order to maintain the existing MVSEG-funded programs and staffing at the same levels, we have to work harder and tap into new funding sources and we need 100% participation from each family. If every family were to raise their share for MVSEG, we will reach our fundraising goals this year.
Some people prefer to make a direct donation through our Annual Giving Campaign; some people like to get fabulous goods or events for their money by supporting the parties or the silent auction gala. Some people like to sell raffle to their neighbors, family and friends. Some people swipe their Ralphs card or use our special Amazon Associates link every time they shop. Some people do a little bit of everything. Whatever your preference is, please do support MVSEG. We’ve compiled the following list to give you a better understanding our various fundraisers through the year. The funds raised during these and other events are critical to the continue enrichment programs for the school year.

Big Boo Opportunity Drawing – During the Big Boo (a PTA sponsored Halloween event), MVSEG hosts a drawing ticket fundraiser. |

Bids for Kids Silent Auction Gala – This is THE major social event of the year. At this spring event, families bid on auction items such as trips, restaurant gift certificates, beauty treatments and much more. |

Party Book – Host or Join a Party – Mar Vista families can sign up for parties for adults or kids and enjoy special outings while at the same time raising money for the school.
Spirit Wear – Parents and children can show their school spirit by purchasing and wearing Spirit Wear sporting the Mar Vista School logo. Write Grants – Parent volunteers identify and apply for outside grants to supplement MVSEG’s enrichment efforts. Shop for $ for our School
